World Hospice and Palliative Care Day Activities

The Palliative and Supportive Care Program at Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC)- Lebanon, organized several activities regarding this year World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) during the month of October 2021.  At Hospital Level: - Educational awareness sessions delivered to newly joined house staff, physicians and nurses - A Video, regarding this year theme on how to improve provision of palliative care for marginalized population, featured on the International Day (Video link on Palliative Care Program page) - Photo/logo related to WHPCD added as a screen saver on computers during the entire month of October 2021  External Activities: Webinar: Palliative Care for Marginalized Population in Lebanon Since this year’s theme is about equity in access to palliative care for marginalized population: "Leave no-one behind - equity in access to palliative care", our team is planning to organize an awareness campaign targeting the marginalized population in Lebanon. We have started this campaign in collaboration with the healthcare workers and staff at ‘SIDC’ NGO (Soins Infirmiers et Developpement Communautaire) and delivered an awareness session about palliative and supportive care for marginalized patients.
