In the afternoon of Oct 8, 2011, we organized a free clinic about palliative care in our hospital. Almost half of our department staff attended the activity with enthusiasm. There were four clinic parts which included cancer pain treatment, cancer cachexia treatment, distress management and cancer related complications and comorbidities treatment. We distributed several hundreds of leaflets which contents included definition of palliative care, "not giving up, but being more active" and tips how to deal with the uncomfortable symptoms, such as pain, emesis, fever, fatigue, and so on. More than one hundred of patients came to complain about their uncomfortable symptoms during the disease diagnosis and treatment.
