World Hospice and Palliative Care Day Special Lecture

Presented by the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly's (NICE) End-of-Life Issues Theme Team in collaboration with Pallium Canada, Bruyere Continuing Care/the Bruyere Research Institute and the Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program, the simultaneously web-/and podcasted lecture from the Auditorium of the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital (43 Bruyere Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 5C8) is geared toward fostering the recognition of end-of-life issues and to celebrate the achievements of the international hospice and palliative care movements. Following an introduction and brief overview on the state of hospice and palliative care service provision in the Champlain region of Ontario in connection with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day activities, this year's Special Lecture, delivered by Dr. Kathleen Foley of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, will focus on the promotion of hospice and palliative care around the world - bringing the theme of the Day 'Achieving Universal Coverage of Palliative Care: Who Cares? We Do!' to full circle.
